Rivalist + Google Search Console

Pull your real search query, click, and impression data directly into the audit.

What Google Search Console does

Google Search Console (GSC) provides real query, click, and impression data for your domain. Rivalist optionally pulls this to ground recommendations in actual performance.

Why it matters for your audit

Without GSC data, audits use modeled keyword data (DataForSEO estimates). GSC gives you the truth — what queries actually drove clicks last month.

Integration depth

How Rivalist uses Google Search Console

  • Top queries by clicks and impressions (last 90 days).

  • CTR analysis — queries with high impressions but low CTR (snippet rewrite opportunities).

  • Pages with declining traffic — flagged for content refresh.

  • AI Overview impact — queries where impressions dropped despite stable rank.

In your report

What you actually see

  • Your top 50 queries with click, impression, CTR data.

  • Underperforming snippets — pages ranking but not clicking.

  • Content refresh suggestions based on traffic decay.

BYOK note

GSC integration is OAuth-based. BYOK: connect your GSC property directly. Hosted: same flow, we proxy the OAuth dance.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need a verified Search Console property?

Yes. You must own and have verified the property in Search Console. Rivalist reads via OAuth scope `webmasters.readonly`.

Is my GSC data shared?

No. Your GSC data is scoped to your account, used only to generate your audit, and never used for model training.

What if I don't have GSC set up yet?

Audits run without GSC — they fall back to modeled keyword data. We recommend connecting GSC for the most accurate recommendations.
